Why record numbers of people are quitting their jobs and reassessing their lives

Let me share with you in this short podcast some of the things I’ve heard from people in the last few months, which may suggest the first stirrings of fundamental social change. Very interested in your reactions.
Many counted as not going back to work are the migrant workers. Many who are refusing are like you said, changing jobs seeking better pay and conditions. People have recognized that they are valuable to their employers and haven't been treated fairly. So their avenue of protest is to stay out of work or the work conditions change for the better.
Now Companies and all other businesses are slowly changing to provide better conditions and realize their employees are valuable. As an example take the show "Undercover Boss". Those CEO's (appox. 90 or so) came to the realization that their employees have hardships because of company policies, then do a 90 degree turnaround and reward the employees they have been mentored by. What about the rest of the employees?
They may be raising pay and giving better working conditions by passing the added cost along to the consumer. They are controlling the cost of living by raising prices and assuring the cost of living will outpace any and all progress their employees may have gained during this pandemic.
Upper management will not take a pay cut to help keep the cost of living down. Who really deserves to be paid millions as bonuses to be a CEO? That decision is made by the boards of the Companies because their CEO's add at their profit margin excessively at the expense of the employees. It's a dog eat dog world with zero control.
Working people are realizing that the profit their companies make is purely based on their work and struggle to maintain their living wage. The cost of living is now being based on the employee and gets to rise outpacing their paychecks. While the Boards and their CEO's are continuing to reap the benefits of the rising cost of living based on suppressing their workers. People need to boycott those businesses whose earnings have outpaced the cost of living.
As an example the fossil fuel industry has been raising prices even though there is no shortage. The supply chain has been reduced why? Because the drivers and other employees are demanding a cost of living increase?
That industry has been ripping the American consumer/taxpayer off each and every year for about the past 50 years or so. They have gained many tax breaks and get to collect massive subsidies from the government(tax money) yearly. I believe the American consumer has overpaid the fossil fuel industry their worth many times over. We have paid excessively more than each company is worth. We should own them all now, based on the subsidies and grants(they don't have to repay) they have acquired over the years.
Politicians need to stop giving them tax money and take the companies over based on how much they have profited. Those politicians who coddle the fossil fuel industry need to be investigated fully to see how much in kickbacks each one of them has acquired. It's a matter of ethics.
They have also destroyed vast areas of natural habitat in their quest for the mighty dollar. We NEED clean water to survive. One cannot drink the fossil fuels. It takes years for the environment to recover from a spill. WE NEED the foods those areas produce, not the contamination.
Boycotting one oil company at a time will send the signal back to the boards to stop raising prices and slow the climbing cost of living. Start with the oil companies alphabetically each month until the prices stop rising.
I agree with the idea of people being fed up with the work situation of low pay for "shitty jobs". I see two things that no one talks about though.
1. Those jobs were held by people who died, or were left unable to work because if Covid.
2. Many of the people who did low paying jobs were immigrants who have been kicked out, or prevented from coming into the country. We can't have it both ways! So many people don't want immigrants here, but they also don't want the jobs those people did!
