This article inspires much hope! Yet, I am very cautious due to a lack of Democratic resolve to overhaul our system of Government in order to avoid another “Trump” in future and to dispense justice on all the individuals that have profited from this nightmare.

As for the funds, since the USA dollar is a sovereign currency, if need be the Treasury can print as much as is needed. I have no idea. My last sentence was meant to be taken broadly for people reading. I know myself that many of us aren't involved in a party or action group, but complain mightily about political decisions. It is my opinion that holding a democracy together requires that everyone make their voices heard. My father had a Grade 3 education and modest employment, but he read the paper front to back every day, and wrote to his political representatives on a variety of topics. I still remember my Grade 8 study of the US government and Constitution... I don't know if that's even a requirement;uirement any more. Cheers!

Have you watched Trump speak recently? Have you listened to him? He can't concentrate, and he can't talk about policy at all. Yesterday’s congressional vote about Iran was merely political theatre. No president has considered the War Powers act constitutional and President Trump will just ignore this congressional vote.
Trump’s military action in Iran ended after only 38 days and has been won. All of the military objectives that were defined at the outset of the campaign have been achieved; Iran does not have the capability to produce nuclear weapons or the missiles to deliver them, their air force, navy and command and control have been destroyed, their support of proxy terrorist groups like Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis have been vanquished and at least the top two levels of their regime leadership have been irradicated. They are now down to Brigade command level and are afraid to use cell phones or the Internet for communication, so they message by courier.
I think that it’s unlikely that the Mullah’s will ever negotiate a deal and I’m confident that President Trump recognizes that as well. So, President Trump continues to strangle the regime with sanctions and his brilliant Straits of Hormuz blockade. The longer the Mullahs hold out, the more they will be forced to be compliant. And while it may be too much to expect, the longer the strangulation, the more likely the Persian people will rise up against their oppressors. It will take longer than it should because the incompetent Obama/Kerry/Biden made a worthless capitulating nuclear deal with the Mullahs and then flew plane loads of cash in the middle of the night which funded their nuclear arms development.
The bottom line is that I don’t want Iran to have nukes and there is no one better on the entire planet to resolve this than President Trump. I enjoy watching the master at work.

For those of you who are living on Planet Earth rather than Planet MAGA, I am pleased to report that the Trump-fluffing candidate decidedly lost the Republican gubernatorial primary here in NM on Tuesday. This article inspires much hope! Yet, I am very cautious due to a lack of Democratic resolve to overhaul our system of Government in order to avoid another “Trump” in future and to dispense justice on all the individuals that have profited from this nightmare.
The main problem for decades will be undoing the destruction already wreaked. Can you imagine the political survival of a Congress budgeting only for the hugely expensive and long-range repairs? And in the wreckage of the economy and of the IRS, with what funds?
I am in total agreement that the damage is immense, but I don’t believe it will require decades if, and only if there is the political will. As for the funds, since the USA dollar is a sovereign currency, if need be the Treasury can print as much as is needed. The only stopper would be inflation much greater than what is currently being seen.
You may be too young to remember the political fallout (and human immiseration) of high inflation. In any case the Fed would never permit it, as it would impoverish the state as well as the people.
Evaristo, the Democrats, as with the Republicans, will do as the people who support them demand. All I can say is take out a membership and get involved.

I have no idea. My last sentence was meant to be taken broadly for people reading. I know myself that many of us aren't involved in a party or action group, but complain mightily about political decisions. It is my opinion that holding a democracy together requires that everyone make their voices heard. My father had a Grade 3 education and modest employment, but he read the paper front to back every day, and wrote to his political representatives on a variety of topics. I still remember my Grade 8 study of the US government and Constitution... I don't know if that's even a requirement;uirement any more. Cheers!
That sounds like a challenge but wasn’t meant to! I’m just curious. I’m a Democrat and an active one but I too talk as if the Party were external to me, because it’s *run* by people I consider enemies of the people.
Yeah, it's tough. I'd like to think "the party" has learned some serious lessons from this experience that will renew the party with lots of input from people like yourself. Having grown up in a "responsible" Republican household, I thought political participation was something everyone did!
I think more people did participate when we were growing up. Though many more were prevented from participating than have been in recent decades. And sigh, they may be prevented again very soon.
Trump is an infantile madman so sick he deserves more pity than hate, but he's NOT running the country. He can't. He doesn't have the capacity to -- and the only things he talks about are his toys -- entertainment, the reflecting pond, the ballroom, his "arch," his speeches.
But while Trump plays with AI like a toddler with rubber ducks, the faceless monsters deconstructing our democracy get on with the real work of gutting the nation's institutions, firing competent bureaucrats, unleashing illegal terror upon immigrants, undermining the upcoming elections and more.
Trump IS the distraction. Trump is the show. The real damage is being done by the faceless, unelected men running the country in his name.
Helena, I have a different view. Trump most certainly is running the country. That's why America is in such an economic mess and is now disrespected around the world. He makes the decisions. He owns every cowardly Republican politician. He demands revenge and the cruelty because he takes pleasure from it. As for deserving pity, he deserves as much pity as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Marcos, Castro, Pinochet or Putin which is exactly none. They are all built from the same hate infused, self serving cloth. What he deserves is to be recognized as evil and to never, ever rest in peace.
Have you watched Trump speak recently? Have you listened to him? He can't concentrate, and he can't talk about policy at all. He's fixated on his AI images, his ballroom, his arch, his party on the Mall. You may have been right that 18 months ago, or even 12 he was still in control, but he has now completely lost his mind.
The point is: it doesn't matter because the faceless, unelected people that prop him up -- Musk, Miller, Hegseth et al -- know they can keep him happy with his toys and his hateful attacks on others. They feed him what he wants to hear -- how much he's loved, how great he is, that he's the best ever etc. And they continue to secure control behind the scenes. They are the ones who know own the Senate and the Supreme Court -- and they can't be distracted by ballrooms and parties and AI images of themselves in costumes. They are far more dangerous.
Praying the nightmare will soon end...
The conditions that brought us Trump will remain when Trump is gone. They may go into decline as they did when Joe McCarthy and "anti-American" zealots were swept off the stage, but evil will always exist in human beings. And they will be back "under new management."
