The Small Window of Opportunity. Think of the upcoming week as prelude to the big action: With both chambers of Congress now back in session, Democrats are getting ready for high-stakes votes on infrastructure and all Biden’s other domestic priorities. The window of opportunity is open — but it will shut remarkably quickly.
I'm from Iowa and a far left Dem I talk to alot of people about any and all issues and its clear if they don't actively seek out democratic policy then the only information they hear see and read is from the right no matter their news source it's either the right telling crazy lies to make them fear the left (as they have no agenda they don't talk policy) and when you see the Dems all they talk is bunker baby and the crazy qanon senators Why don't the left get out there on tv and social media nonstop like the right do but instead of talking or acting like them crazy just tell Americans in plain english what they are trying to do 90% of Americans would support it if they knew
Thanks for all you do to unravel confusing legislation and keeping us current and educated as to the workings of our government. I would hope people like you and George Lakoff (I think a teaching colleague of yours) might help the Democrats improve their messaging. And it would also be good if they continually reminded Americans of the hypocrisy of the Republicans (as you recently pointed out in an email).
So well said. Thank you for your insight. Information is flying from everywhere and I am trying to take it all in, as well as understand it and make the most of it (I pass on to others, I contribute, I attend meetings and demonstrations, I call my officials, I have knocked on doors, etc.). I'm new to the political process in such a way since I was raised not to participate in the political process because of religious beliefs. As an adult for the past 20 years I have slowly but steadily engaged myself further. The political process can be confusing to me at times but I still choose to want to understand it and participate then to give it all up as useless.I'm a Texan and am ready to help us pass this bill. Any suggestions on the best way to help pass this bill in the limited window we are in? What would be the best utilisation of our time?
I really appreciate how you explain everything and put it into context - at the time there was so much venom directed at Hillary that it was really impossible to figure out what was really happening.
Great piece! You do a great job really laying out what is really on the line. Hopefully both chambers are able to pass the bipartisan bill and reconciliation bill in the coming weeks. If not we can kiss the midterms goodbye. I look forward to reading more and keeping in touch.
I think its great that you help people to understand how the system works. I feel that its too corrupt throughout the world from the wealthy to matter anymore. Unless a good hearted billion/trillionaire is out there to pay off the corrupt politicians in office to make the system less corrupt, i feel there is no hope for society as a whole. The system will just have to collapse like the civilizations before us did.
I wish it was you people He's out there teaching us explaining to us all by himself as somebody who seeks this information out everyday he's the only one I found trying to explain policy to common folks Other Dems just talk over and over about how crazy Republicans are

You're right about the Dems and their messaging. I'll never understand why they still fumble at this after dozens of years.
