Speaking of political discourse. Tell me if you know about and how feel about this one. Trump sued Capital One because since 2001 they closed over 300 accounts because of transactions they found suspicious and possibly involved with money laundering. They have provided the judge and DOJ the evidence of the account activities, transactions and their compliance with corporate guidelines that were put in place to protect their customers accounts. Trump claims it was because of, well, him and them hating him. They filed a motion to dismiss the case based on the evidence provided. You can look up the motion and the evidence produced by Cap One. Look like he's going to lose another one.
I'm not going to waste my time on speculation. We'll see what happens. To the best of my knowledge, President Trump has not lost a civil case yet that he hasn't appealed.

This is exactly what I talked about responding to your comment to me. You start ok but then go into negativity and name calling. Please read my response to you and consider this. Let's say you see a negative and hostile approach to something and you disagree. If you go negative, you just start fighting and nothing gets accomplished. If you're patient and go neutral to positive there is a chance you could change their mind. You don't like being attacked. You want people to see how you want to protect your family and why. Fighting won't get you closer to allowing you to be able to make those choices for you and your family. Remember, those are your choices and they won't be the same as everyone else's choices. Does anyone have the right to tell you're wrong and then legally prevent you from making those choices? No, of course not. Others expect and have the right to make their own choices for themselves and their family. Always think ahead because someone can try to force you to make other choices for you family. This is one of the biggest problems. Let people choose what is best for them. You don't want your right to choose something stepped on so don't step on others just because their different.
If your talking about my screen name, it's word play with the Green Day songs lyrics and it's also me saying that I'm going to be intentional and intelligent about what I'm saying even if it's wrong to someone else. I try to keep rational and factual. I grew up doing public speaking and debate so I try to keep a lot of emotion out of what I'm saying. Not to say I'm not passionate about things but there's a balance between enough emotion to back up your position without it becoming offensive to someone else.

A quadratic equation is basic high school algebra and geometry. It's used to find the measurement of a missing line length of a shape. It's also used with other equations as well. For example, you have the lengths of 2 sides of a triangle and need to find the length of the 3rd side. You use the quadratics to figure it out. I graduated from high school with a 3.76 GPA and college with a double major in TV and film production as well as psychology so yes, I knew what a quadratic equation long before the song. So don't call me stupid and the song very clearly indicates how many Americans are idiots. I could very easily say you're an idiot but I don't know you. All I know is that we disagree and that's fine but name calling and presuming I don't know things based on my life of dislike of a song is definitely a sign of a lack of emotional growth and empathy. Actually, most of us advocate a form of socialism, not communism and there is a difference. Communism is a failed system, exemplified by Russia. Socialist Democracies, like many of the European countries always score highest on happiness scales, unlike the USA which usually scores near the bottom. That's because in those countries, people feel secure in the fact that they all have access to healthcare, without the threat of going bankrupt. They all have access to good daycare and safe working conditions. They also feel that their government, for the most part, is on their side, instead of what's happening in the states. That is, the leaders of their governments, for the most part, aren't ripping off their tax dollars for their own self-aggrandizement. They aren't being hounded by gestapo like tactics because of their skin color or who they love. FYI - there is already socialism in the USA- Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and then of course the first responders, road building and maintenance, food safety- although this is being dismantled. We used to have a fully functioning Center for Disease Control, but not so much anymore. All of these are paid for by pooling our resources - socialism.

There is a major difference between a government telling you what you can and can't do and a government giving you options so you can choose for yourself.
If you want no socialistic aspects in your life, you would have no income to support your family if you lose your job. You'd continue to have no money until you found another job. While you were out of a job, you wouldn't be able to get any food for your family, gas for your car to get to interviews, be able to afford or use the internet to apply for jobs and it's almost all done online even if it's a job at a gas station. You wouldn't even be able to use the library for Internet because that's a socialistic benefit. You'd eventually lose all your utilities and you home would become cold and dark. How does that affect your family? Are you prepared to see your loved ones starve, god forbid? Then again, you won't truly know what it means to have safety nets setup until you need them. Just some thoughts.
You do realize Trump and Hegseth is erasing all mentions of African American accomplishments from government websites as well as from sites memorializing the heroism of Black men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. I think the biggest reason I have such a problem with the radical right and anyone that can't talk to another person without calling names, demoralizing and just being insulting to the other person nullifies everything they say. I’ve been writing postcards for quite a few years. One of the main facilities that provides postcards to individuals and to the Indivisible Groups is located near where I live. To me, the upcoming election is not about Blue vs Red, Right vs Left. It's about just a few, but vitally important reasons. They are as follows:
1. Basic human respect and decency
2. Basic human caring and kindness
3. Regaining civility by reunifying people,
The powerful have very successfully accomplished their goal of dividing us up and having us fight amongst ourselves about differences instead of focusing on what makes us the same.
That's all we have to do, just 3 things. Not every candidate that is Blue will represent these key issues. There may be some Red ones out there that do. We must stop voting on "ideals". Higher level ideology comes later. At those point, we have been beaten back to basics. Love one another, respect one another, help, rebuild, and restore the foundations of what it means to be a civil society. This November is step 1 of many steps that we need to climb. Baby steps will get us there. It's a marathon not a sprint.
Now is the time while the fire is burning brightly, to take action and elect candidate who will effect real change for us the people. Unfortunately that is why some less than thoughtful folks voted for Con Man Don ( who of course, conned them) I believe Bernie Sanders believes in respect for kindness, helping others and decency, but in order to have these we must elect candidates who REALLY believe in these ideals.

There are precious few "red candidates" who adhere to caring, decency, respect, and unification. Mostly it's all about adhering to whatever "Con Man Don" wants today, what the NRA wants, what the Chamber of Commerce wants or what AIPAC demands. Certainly not every blue candidate meets these requirements either, especially the centrist candidates willing to take $ from anyone. We need candidates who care about affordable medical care, affordable housing, affordable education, and affordable food. Notice that affordable word keeps popping up!!

Now, the furthest I would have ever gone on that list of hostile terms would be racist if you clearly were. I rarely even use antisemitic. So your allegations of being that rude is simply not true. Also, intelligence and presentation are different things. It's clear you want to live in an environment where you are free to choose what you think is best for you and your family. Part of having that right is also being tolerant of others right to choose something different. Attacking that means you are essentially attacking your own rights to that freedom to choose.
Part of getting "back to basics" is everyone putting negativity and hostility away. Everyone needs to keep their opinions to themselves especially when they degrade others.

Humphrey, yes, you are entitled to your opinion. I've read what you put out there and it isn't productive and often not at all positive or making an effort to promote positive change. There is a right way and a wrong way to express your opinions. You will generally receive back what you put out there. You will never be able to change someone's perception of a topic or get them to see your point of view if your rude, nasty, name calling etc.
For example, here's 2 different ways to say the same thing.

That being said, I will call people out when they attack large groups of like minded people or attack people with hate and hostility. Try taking a different approach next time. I'm never upset by differing opinions. I used to be more conservative than I am now. Why did I become more liberal? Well, because I like millions of others may believe is some conservative ideology but have come to realize that ideology has been destroyed by nastiness and hate. I'm also older and have had to learn that just because I may not believe the same thing as someone else, they have have made a better argument. As an example, I personally do not believe in abortion. However, I have no right to infringe on someone else's right to choose differently. As a man, I have no right to tell a woman what she can and can't do with their body. Would a man allow a woman to tell them what they can do to their body? We all know how that would go. Legal or Illegal, if a woman wants an abortion she will find a way. That is part of the human condition . As a human, it is my job to ensure that if a woman chooses to have one, I must ensure that she receives it as safely as possible. I can only submit my opinion to the woman I personally know is trying to decide what to do. Ultimately, she has to decide and live with that decision for the rest of her life no matter what she decides to do. When she does make the choice, it's my job to support her whether I agree or not. I well end with a request. Allow other people to see you and what you believe through kindness not hostility.

Finally, I don't see live and let live conservatives trying to mandate that everyone believe what we believe, but I do see leftists wanting to mandate not only what i do, but what I believe. Like biological men can become women, or that shutdowns and school closings were appropriate for covid, or that those refusing to take the jab should be fired or kicked out of the military or for that matter that climate alarmism is science rather than a hoax. I'm not going to say that any president is really in charge. There's always major influences working in the background. Right now, Trump is working for and with the top 1%. In 18 months 2 Billion in income and that's just what we know about and it doesn't count the rest of his family! Every president makes money off of his presidency but the bulk of it is afterwards through books and speaking engagements etc. They don't do it through insider trading and illegal means. Trump won on what we were told he would do but that's not what we've gotten He said no new wars, not so. Now I understand he can't control everything. If Iran truly had a nuclear missile capable of hitting any of our allies, no way they had the ability to hit us, then yeah we get involved. The Trump family are serial entrepreneurs; do you really expect them to stop making money because Donald Trump is serving the country? President Trump is doing everything that I voted for. I can state categorically that President Trump is the only president in our lifetime who has done what he promised to do.
In terms of Iran it is really simple; the apocalyptic regime currently ruling Iran can never be allowed to have nuclear weapons. That is the strategic objective and the tactics to achieve that will change with the circumstances. The post card campaign has been ongoing through Indivisible. We have to get the word out to those who really don't seem to care. I suppose on some level they care that they can no longer afford things, or have to choose between medicine or gas. But maybe they don't read enough to connect the dots. At one time I was one of those people. I'd research before an election in order to make an informed choice on the candidates but was not consumed by it. And now I am so into everything political and so stressed that I believe I'm working on an ulcer but have to keep going. America's future is at stake.

It's quite interesting doing the postcards. You get a list of names and addresses and suggested writings to choose from. I enjoy reading unusual names, thinking of where the person came from, wonder what their oddly named street means, how old they may be, etc.
It's a kind way to reach out to another human i know nothing about and hope they vote.......maybe because they received a pretty postcard from a stranger.
I just spent a couple weeks validating signatures on a petition to increase the number and method of election of county commissioners in my part of Colorado. I had the same experience, seeing the unusual names, searching for them, finding a dozen people registered with that name, usually on adjacent streets. Imagining how they got here and thst they have their family around them.

The eligible voters are split 65/35 with a majority supporting democracy and a minority supporting tyranny. The minority includes 60 million registered Republican supporters of Trump and ICE that includes white male supremacists who hate women blacks and immigrants. There's a difference between patriotism and nationalism.
Patriotism means love of a country - its people, its landscapes, language, culture, the best of its traditions. It doesn't exclude knowledge of or even admiration of the best of other cultures.
Nationalism involves supremacism - the notion that being from a certain country makes one superior to other people and cultures and the desire to impose that superiority by force if necessary.
In Orwell's words:
'The abiding purpose of every nationalist is to secure more power and more prestige, not for himself but for the nation or other unit in which he has chosen to sink his own individuality.'
Long story short: Trump and his gang don't love America. But they hate anyone and everyone who is deemed to be alien to their view of what an American truly is.
I believe I am a patriot, William, because I do love America! I do love all of the people from all parts of the world that live here, the different languages, cultures and traditions. I love the beauty that is America. The wide, open spaces where at night you can see millions of stars. America is my home and is truly worth fighting for. The USA is a stunningly beautiful country. and patriots/nationalists like Lincoln and Roosevelt created national parks and monuments to celebrate that beauty and preserve it for posterity. Unfortunately Trump, the backers of Project 2025, and millions of our citizens are more interested in exploiting that beauty for personal gain. Members of the Heritage Foundation especially should be ashamed of themselves. Why aren't we denouncing them for their hypocrisy?

Patriotism is still the last refuge of the scoundrel and Trump has returned to it again with his Red Scare tactics. Look like he's going to lose another one.

Actually, most of us advocate a form of socialism, not communism and there is a difference. Communism is a failed system, exemplified by Russia. Socialist Democracies, like many of the European countries always score highest on happiness scales, unlike the USA which usually scores near the bottom. That's because in those countries, people feel secure in the fact that they all have access to healthcare, without the threat of going bankrupt. They all have access to good daycare and safe working conditions. They also feel that their government, for the most part, is on their side, instead of what's happening in the states. That is, the leaders of their governments, for the most part, aren't ripping off their tax dollars for their own self-aggrandizement. They aren't being hounded by gestapo like tactics because of their skin color or who they love. FYI - there is already socialism in the USA- Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and then of course the first responders, road building and maintenance, food safety- although this is being dismantled. We used to have a fully functioning Center for Disease Control, but not so much anymore. All of these are paid for by pooling our resources - socialism.

I’ve been writing postcards for quite a few years. One of the main facilities that provides postcards to individuals and to the Indivisible Groups is located near where I live. To me, the upcoming election is not about Blue vs Red, Right vs Left. It's about just a few, but vitally important reasons. They are as follows:
1. Basic human respect and decency
2. Basic human caring and kindness
3. Regaining civility by reunifying people,
The powerful have very successfully accomplished their goal of dividing us up and having us fight amongst ourselves about differences instead of focusing on what makes us the same.
That's all we have to do, just 3 things. Not every candidate that is Blue will represent these key issues. There may be some Red ones out there that do. We must stop voting on "ideals". Higher level ideology comes later. At those point, we have been beaten back to basics. Love one another, respect one another, help, rebuild, and restore the foundations of what it means to be a civil society. This November is step 1 of many steps that we need to climb. Baby steps will get us there. It's a marathon not a sprint.

There are precious few "red candidates" who adhere to caring, decency, respect, and unification. Mostly it's all about adhering to whatever "Con Man Don" wants today, what the NRA wants, what the Chamber of Commerce wants or what AIPAC demands. Certainly not every blue candidate meets these requirements either, especially the centrist candidates willing to take $ from anyone. There is a right way and a wrong way to express your opinions. You will generally receive back what you put out there. Ultimately, she has to decide and live with that decision for the rest of her life no matter what she decides to do. When she does make the choice, it's my job to support her whether I agree or not. I well end with a request. Allow other people to see you and what you believe through kindness not hostility.

The post card campaign has been ongoing through Indivisible. We have to get the word out to those who really don't seem to care. I suppose on some level they care that they can no longer afford things, or have to choose between medicine or gas. But maybe they don't read enough to connect the dots. At one time I was one of those people. I'd research before an election in order to make an informed choice on the candidates but was not consumed by it. And now I am so into everything political and so stressed that I believe I'm working on an ulcer but have to keep going. America's future is at stake.

It's quite interesting doing the postcards. You get a list of names and addresses and suggested writings to choose from. I enjoy reading unusual names, thinking of where the person came from, wonder what their oddly named street means, how old they may be, etc.
It's a kind way to reach out to another human i know nothing about and hope they vote.......maybe because they received a pretty postcard from a stranger.
I just spent a couple weeks validating signatures on a petition to increase the number and method of election of county commissioners in my part of Colorado. I had the same experience, seeing the unusual names, searching for them, finding a dozen people registered with that name, usually on adjacent streets. Imagining how they got here and thst they have their family around them.

The eligible voters are split 65/35 with a majority supporting democracy and a minority supporting tyranny. The minority includes 60 million registered Republican supporters of Trump and ICE that includes white male supremacists who hate women blacks and immigrants. There's a difference between patriotism and nationalism.
Patriotism means love of a country - its people, its landscapes, language, culture, the best of its traditions. It doesn't exclude knowledge of or even admiration of the best of other cultures.
Nationalism involves supremacism - the notion that being from a certain country makes one superior to other people and cultures and the desire to impose that superiority by force if necessary.

Long story short: Trump and his gang don't love America. But they hate anyone and everyone who is deemed to be alien to their view of what an American truly is.

I was born and raised in Galveston. We were once a very Blue State. I don't know how we could have gone to the dark side. The Church I attend is predominantly Republicans. Patriotism is still the last refuge of the scoundrel and Trump has returned to it again with his Red Scare tactics. Democrats need to fight on two issues: 1) that America is a country of laws and Trump is a crook and convicted fraudster who is undermining democracy at home and abroad, and 2) the economy is failing because Trump's policies - war, mass deportation, tariffs and fossil fuels - are all wrong and will set the US back decades.

It would help if Dems would check the history of the DSA before declaring their alignment with democratic socialism. The group goes back to the early 1900s and has over time merged multiple times and had multiple name changes of a number of socialist groups that indeed were pro-Marxist, pro-Communist, and Leninist in their beliefs. That is the current fodder being used against Democratic candidates by the Trumpists. I don’t think all the 101 Democrats in Congress realized that by declaring they consider themselves as Democratic socialists that they actually might be giving MAGA ammo to use against them when they and Trump call them Communists. The DSA’s leader actually said on Fox that the group wants to abolish the Pentagon, the Senate, prisons, SCOTUS, the presidency, and more. The group has a list of candidates it supports. Imo, the group is trying to take over the Democratic Party in the same way the fascists took over the GOP. So, I just suggest you all take a deep dive online and search the different organizations that preceded and merged into the current socialist group called the DSA over the past 100 years through multiple mergers and name changes before declaring an alignment with their views. The current version of this DSA says it was founded in 1982 but they really are a melding through merging with a number of prior socialist groups with Marxist beliefs that had name changes but basically still extreme beliefs today’s Dems have no association with. You can do the same research I did, just stay away from AI. I think there are 2 Dems in Congress who also are actual members of DSA: AOC and Tlaib. Apparently, there is a faction of Bernie voters in the group who along with the other 100,000 DSA members refused to support Kamala in 2024. Mamdani also reportedly refused to support her. One other thing we need to remember is that getting labeled as Communists because we may unknowingly align with a group with history of communist ties might be being pushed by Putin as well as Musk and others who would benefit from entrapping Dems in order to put that label on us. Putin was behind Brexit, too, and Farage is still actively advocating an extreme right wing agenda in the UK now. We really need someone with reporting skills to dig deep and get that group’s real agenda out in the open to Dems before some real damage is done and we elect people set on destroying what little is left intact after we finally are rid of Trump.

He did make promises he knew he could never fulfill. Then a huge faction of his followers went over to Trump and a big faction still withheld support of Kamala which helped Trump again. To be clear, I am saying to jump on board with the DSA or to leave that impression because of failure to be clear about saying you’re a socialist as 101 Dems already have because the DSA makes it seem they are just wanting a few programs like healthcare for all is not a smart thing without deep personal research into its real beginnings. It’s leader said on Fox the other day they (DSA) want to abolish the Senate, the Pentagon, SCOTUS, the presidency, defund the police, to name a few. To say you’re a Democratic Socialist is aligning yourself with that group whose every intention is also to take a wrecking ball to our Constitution. To dismiss it is foolish and denial about handing Trump and MAGA the means to make us lose the midterms because we need the votes of never-Trump Rs to win and they are already calling far left Dems communists and know the DSA’s real history began with socialist groups of Marxists and Communists far earlier than 1982 when they merged and formed the DSA. There has already been reporting that Russia is pushing influence at Dems to move them toward the DSA. Woe to the Democratic Party if it allows the DSA to push its far left agenda and dictate who the Democratic Party’s candidates will be because imo it is a trap. I am not labeling the Dems of the Democratic Party’s candidates. I am cautioning them to not declare they are Democratic Socialists without understanding the real beginnings and intentions of the DSA because to allow the Rs to define what you mean when you say it will likely scare away many, many voters we desperately need right now.

Trump may have fumbled, but he is a terrorist and has made himself untouchable. He gets away with everything. killing people, raping women and girls, grifting billions off the country in violation of the Constitution even violating the very law he signed that releases the Epstein files. He protects his friends and, of course, himself. His buddy, Putin gives Iran information about our troops, so they can kill them, making him a traitor as well. He wants to silence us and control every aspect of our lives. He jails innocents who have lawfully complied with immigration requirements, jailing them without due process, in fetid filthy jails with spoiled food infested with worms, and no sanitary facilities. He deports a mother of a three-year-old boy who cannot go with his mother, only to have him placed with a relative who was so unsuitable that he beats and even sexually abuses the child, as a coroner found evidence on the dead toddler's body. Fumbled is a kind word for the horrors he has visited upon us.

My hat is off to Wendy and Larry! They have joined many others on my wall of heroes! People don't realize it, but those postcards do make a difference! The fact that Larry would write them with his wife while suffering the pain of arthritis tells me that true, honest and real patriots are at work all over this country. The reasoning behind Wendy and Larry's postcard writing is exactly the same as mine. We are doing it for our children, grandchildren and future generations! It is important to know that they will not grow up in evil, corrupt regimes like this one. I am in awe of the millions of the real patriots all across our country that are stepping up and doing the hard work to ensure noncommitted folks have a reason to go to the polls in November. We need a blue tsunami that'll rock these republican enablers to their core! We need to say in as loud a voice as possible, America belongs to ALL of us! I've said it before that right now and in the next three months, the orange greasy toad and his cult minions will hit us hard with lies, lies, lies, misinformation and propaganda.
