BTW, my Sunday message. Outside the box. Who influences Putin? How to pressure Putin.
1. His girlfriend, gymnast Alina Kabaeva, with whom he reportedly has 4 kids, is living in Switzerland. Apparently, she wants him to retire. If true, she should be on TV 24/7.
2. Putin is a hockey nut. The greatest Russian players of all time play in the NHL. Alex Ovechkin. Evgeni Malkin. They should call on Putin to end this. News should interview them all day/all night. Otherwise send them back.
3, Even Before War, Thousands Were Fleeing Russia for the U.S.
The vast majority oppose Putin and have contacts within Russia. They can be encouraged to constantly send accurate news to attempt to overcome propaganda.
Some 20 to 30 million ethnic Russians are estimated to live outside the bounds of the Russian Federation (depending on the definition of "ethnicity"). Official census data often considers the only nationality. The number of native speakers of the Russian language who reside outside of the Russian Federation is estimated as close to 30 million by SIL
According to the Institute of Modern Russia in 2011, the Russian American population is estimated to be 3.13 million. The American Community Survey of the U.S. Census shows the total number of people in the U.S. age 5 and over speaking Russian at home to be slightly over 900,000, as of 2020. According to the 2016 Census, there were 622,445 Canadians who claimed full or partial Russian ancestry. The 2011 census recorded 36,313 people born in Russia resident in England, 687 in Wales, 2,180 in Scotland and 349 in Northern Ireland. The Office for National Statistics estimates that 73,000 people born in Russia were resident in the UK in 2020.
The Russian government interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election with the goals of harming the campaign of Hillary Clinton, boosting the candidacy of Donald Trump, and increasing political and social discord in the United States. It tried again in 2020, targeting both sides of the ideological spectrum to sow division.
This strategy is unique to Russian election campaigns, making it different than conventional persuasion-oriented propaganda or other foreign countries’ election interference strategies.
The divide between the police and the Black community, for instance, has been a running theme, as clearly through posts around “Blue Lives Matter” vs. “Black Lives Matter.” Furthermore, it exaggerated a sharp division in the African American community.
Russians used the same tactics in European elections, especially in the UK, France. Germany and Spain.
IMHO individual Russian emigres will be far more credible with their compatriots than Russian propaganda was in the west.
They mean, "Limited by fear, ignorance, and greed."
Did you know that GOP actually means "Greedy Obstruction Party"?
Any more of their freedom and we'll all be in prison.
The textbook definition of hypocrisy.
Ban, ban, ban everyone but me, me, me.
"I'm not sure the GOP understands the term 'Limited Government'..."
It changes with each opportunity to oppress.
Don't look at what we do, Look at what we say.
Here's how you spell "hypocrite" - R-E-P-U-B-L-I-C-A-N!
What a mess age!
I like
“Reminds me of that Tea Party slogan ‘Keep the Government’s hands off my Medicare.’”
“‘Limited’, or ‘limit-imposing’?”
Geez, who knew limited government was so controlling?
The GOP banner and signs should read "Limited Freedom"
And they offer minimal wage!
A/k/a Fascists.
