My husband and I attended a Kristallnacht Remembrance last night at a local synagogue. That we remember these terrible acts, especially now, remains critical. Our dear friend, calmly told the story of her father, a Jew from Poland. He was the ONLY survivor in his family from Birkenau. To hear his story...and hers as his daughter, was a completely different personal view. We are Christians, and part of the Greek Orthodox community, through my husband. His family fought Nazis in Crete during WWII, and he found out just a few years ago, that his family has Arabic, Jewish, and Caucuses ancestry too! Our takeaway...America is a young country. We didn’t invent democracy...the Greeks will always tell you that. Hahaha. And, all of what happened in Europe in WWII could happen anywhere in the world, again. Look at what these people want to do to women...and have. Fired up, ready to strategize then ACT! I helped at our early vote center here. Bannon isn’t anything new, and neither is that dude Spencer Rhodes, the disbarred Yale Law grad. They do not reflect America. We do.
