I've long thought that for the sake of "getting through" to people suffering from toxic individualism, we need to frame the social responsibility part as "collective freedom". As in, freedom to go to a big rock concert without fear of getting shot. Sadly, for those too far down the rabbit hole, it won't work. Since Tucker has helped them overcome any fear of the virus, "freedom to walk into a restaurant or go to work without fear of getting infected" won't work anymore. It's too late for this type of messaging. I'd bet a few bucks that De Santis is boosted, and when he shook his head no, it was a strategic political move. He didn't SAY no--he would probably say he shook his head in disagreement with the whole concept of interfering with individual choice. The whole concept of collective anything (except when in need of Federal assistance) has been largely destroyed by the right wing. There's no more "we", only "me" on Fox.
