Like Trump, the element of love must have been sorely lacking for these guys. So they transfer their need for it to accumulating absurd amounts of money and they covet power. It’s so sad, for us and them. Imagine being one of their children! Can you ever change the hearts of people like this?

In every single life there is always the element of choice: do I go for myself, or do I go for others? The results seem to show that these men are not only single-minded for themselves, they are also blinkered: they will accept no proposition except the one they have thought or wanted for themselves. Unfortunately, their ideas have massive consequences for us all and our poor planet. We have no choice but to try to reign in their overwhelming sense of consequence. We do not have the option of "feeling sorry" for them while they are destroying men, women, children, families, and whole economies. Here we are discussing only two of so many more sociopaths, for that is exactly what these people are. "Love" means so many different things to each one of us. We do not wander around the world bemoaning our own lack of "love". No, we show our own "love" by caring for those around us. We prove our "love" by caring for the planet, and by helping all to achieve their own growth. Those seemingly "important" men are really behaving like entitled overgrown children. At our peril, we let them run around as they presently are doing. Do you not think they are perhaps full of fear they never try to control? We also feel fear but we try to use it to better our surroundings, not to control others so utterly they are reduced to less than robots.

Very good points @GayleFrancesLarkin. As a former county commissioner, we worked on policies to prevent the “attachment failures”. Of course these matters at our level primarily dealt with situations of deep poverty and crime. Maybe we need to enlist these experts to reach people like this? The world depends on such a remedy. Just look at the open Nazi salutes at CEPAC this weekend. It’s an illness not to see this horrific behavior, enabled by enablers cum practitioners like Putin and his supporters, and so many others like apparently Elon. And, the alleged Christians. ALLEGED.

Thank you. You were indeed privileged to have held such a position, and I am sure, tried your very best to alleviate all the atrocities you beheld. Unlike you, I am only "Mrs Ordinary Housewife", yet I have always seen that the ultimate gift of life forces us to acknowledge this gift with action. As a Roman Catholic I trained as a catechist (and learned that Canon Law is very different from what everyone says it is), and I taught various ages: the youngest had to be reassured that their parent was not bound for "hell" because they had their own relationship with God, and we could not judge. If we are truly human we respect others whoever and whatever they are, but we are never entitled to collude with their bad behaviour, whatever that is. This beginning of a new century calls us to action - not to accept bad behaviour, even from the Musk and Bezos pattern of behaviour. The Eastern idea of "hell" is, I believe, "absence" - a truly horrifying idea. Perhaps these "sociopaths" have seen a version of that absence and therefore tend to arm themselves with the illusory goods of this earth to hide from it.

There are millions of people who grow up without love, kindness, consideration and don't become serial killers, sociopaths, psychopaths like Trump et al.

I suggest that is genetic, after all Fred Trump was ran brothels was a slum lord, and had no love for anyone but himself. And not all of his children turned out like him, only Donald and to a lesser degree his sister, Marianne Trump, who recently died.

I think it is like some diseases, diabetes for instance, the propensity for diabetes, especially Type 1 is genetic, and type 2 at least in the form of insulin resistance is as well, but not all siblings get that gene, because we only receive 1/2 of each parents autosomal DNA, and the 50% we receive is different from that of our siblings, thus a genetic propensity and/or immunity can be passed to one sibling and not another.

Donald's grandfather, Frederick, fled Germany to avoid conscription and opened, well let wikipedia do the talking.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Trump

In 1891, Trump moved to Seattle, in the newly admitted U.S. state of Washington. With his life savings of several hundred dollars, he bought the Poodle Dog, which he renamed the Dairy Restaurant, and supplied it with new tables, chairs, and a range.[3] Located at 208 Washington Street, the Dairy Restaurant was in the middle of Seattle's Pioneer Square; Washington Street was nicknamed "the Line" and included an assortment of saloons, casinos, and brothels. Biographer Gwenda Blair called it "a hotbed of sex, booze, and money, [it] was the indisputable center of the action in Seattle."[5]: 41  The restaurant served food and liquor and was advertised to include "Rooms for Ladies", a common euphemism for prostitution.[5]: 50  In 1892, Trump became a U.S. citizen
