Happy Valentine's Day with love for your work, your insights, and your patriotism. Thank you for helping me and others to understand the times we live in and to appreciate the "back story" of how we, as Americans, came to this point in history and what we can do to further the interests of democracy.

And a very Happy Valentines Day to you, too.

You've certainly opened my eyes to the massive, oligarchic forces arrayed against the middle/working classes and the poor.

Like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Katie Porter, The Squad, and other progressives, you're a true public servant.

Thank you also, Robert, for giving us the benefit of your knowledge and experience, especially as it pertains to the growing divisiveness running rampant in our society and also the decline of democratic protection for ALL Americans, no matter what his or her color, creed, or political persuasion. We need to become more and more aware individually and societally in order to fully understand and appreciate the extent to which the differences in income, job security, economic advantages, and basic rights are negatively impacting our lives. Then, and only then, will enough of us stand up together at the ballot box and in the public domain, such as in unionizing, to enable the beginning of reversing the injustices plaguing our way of life. I know, in my heart, we can do it and, by banding together, forge a path to raising the prospects for a better way of life for my children and, even more so my grandchildren (I have two of the former and six of the latter). Thank you again, Robert; let’s keep on trucking’!

And Happy Valentine’s Day to you and all of my fellow readers of your commentaries ❤️❤️!

Thanks again for the column and pointing out the wide disparity. I get that it’s happening and has been happening since Ronald Reagan. I’ve lived it and, like you, I’m hopeful only because of what I see from the young generation. I mistakenly thought my generation would make a difference. Now I know “meet the new boss, same as the old boss!” “Won’t get fooled again,” ha! What absolutely baffles me is the appeal that the Richie riches see in eroding our democratic norms. Other than short term gain and power they’ve always had anyway, how does Thiel and other very wealthy supporters of trumpism see this playing out? Degradation of the environment with lax regulation? Check. Continued accumulation of wealth by oligarchs? Check. Death of democracy? Check. Is that what they want? It blows my mind every day to see the Uber wealthy supporting this madness. It’s hard to remain hopeful so I do appreciate Dr. Reich’s columns, that helps a little.

Thanks for saying it. We might take comfort in that the mighty shall fall , sooner or later. It happens to every plutocratic state. Meantime, thank you, Robert, for sharing your knowledge and good attitude with us. And your art....we must not forget that art is essential to us all. Sending good thoughts from afar.

Thank you Robert. Your column is always full of good sense and wisdom……as apposed to the other “guys”, who seem to be, to quote the Australian term, absolutely “barking mad”.

Thank You for this refreshingly forthright newsletter and your charming drawings each day. You’ve grounded folks like me that didn’t know where to turn to find the facts on so many issues! Many newspapers and media outlets are either biased, distort the facts, are obviously opinionated or have become just like rag magazines! Thanks for your concise delivery on topics that a lot of Americans seemingly don’t even think about, or worse, simply deny. Stay Healthy & Happy Valentine’s Day from Maryland.

Happy Valentine's Day! Thank you for making sense. Your sanity, humor, and wisdom soothe my troubled head.

I worry, though, that sanity preaches mostly to blue converted. There's too little action to, for example, hold Trump accountable, prevent demise of democracy, and defund the CEO bonus.

I'd do my part by donating my sub copies to a Trumplican -- or Manchin or Sinema -- if you could get them to read and act on your logic. How could they not be captivated by the clear thinking? Better than chocolates and roses!

Back ‘atcha, Professor…thank you for your zeal and quest for truth, honesty and rule of law, your insights and your apparent unique ability of keeping me sane since 2016…although with everything going on in the world I must admit my heart is looking more like this these days: 💔

I enjoy your newsletter very much For a long time now I've been watching your videos. I even like the artful pictures. They call attention to themselves and are deeply explanatory and humane. I wish I could send along a cartoon I saw on Samuel West (the British actor, now playing

Mr Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small) twitter page: on one side of an body of vast water, a vast boat, male captain in gendarme hat: "Where are you from? Other large frail raft crowded with people: "Earth."

The citizens united decision by the supreme court has done more to empower oligarchs than almost anything else and yet I hear very little about overturning it via a constitutional amendment. Call your representative and ask them to support HJR 48.

MikeAnkeny ; Amending the Constitution to only consider human beings (and not corporations) as persons will help keep big money out of our elections. Good idea, because everything that is wrong now is funded by big and often dark money. HJR 48 is an important bill to support. If anyone knows more about this, please share. Thanks Mike!
