My wife and I attended our small town protest and were so inspired by the turnout. It’s the biggest I’ve ever been to in my native town. Our favorite sign was being held by a person in an alien costume that said, “Do Not take me to your leader”.

I'm also in a small town. But 15,000 people showed up!! Shocked the heck out of me because it was even more than the 10,000 who showed up on June 14. Some signs were hilarious ("Dogs Against Trump for Dog Catcher"). Some were touching... a young girl carrying a sign saying, "Free the Kids!" A boy with a sign saying, "Even Hello Kitty Says Good-bye to Trump!" A man in a wheelchair saying that he had polio in 1957 and is grateful for vaccines. One white-haired woman carried a sign that said, "I want to tell my grandchildren that I fought for them." I wore my father's Air Force ring from WWII... the one he wore into battle when he bombed the Nazis.

And yet, I saw Facebook posts from acquaintances who made fun of the protests. One woman even posted an admiring video of Trump dressed in a crown and an ermine-lined cape. I commented, "If you want to live in a monarchy, move out of the US. Let the rest of us live with the democratic republic we've had for 250 years."

I'm tired. I'm 80 years old. I already did this protest stuff during Vietnam and the civil rights movement. I'm pissed that I have to do it all over again.

Protests are good, but protesters, Democrats in government, and the news media have not recognized the ongoing criminal felony insurrection by Trump and ICE. What’s happened in America is an insurrection by Trump, his administration, ICE agents, Republicans in Congress, and six justices on the Supreme Court. The insurrection started on January 6, 2021, and was planned in PROJECT 2025 to continue as planned in 2025. The authoritarian illegal war attacking Americans redefined as enemy combatants, is defined as a felony crime in federal law (18 U.S. Code § 2383) in language that is clear and easy to understand:

“Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.”

Ignorance drives the failure to recognize crimes and enforce the law which threatens democracy. The threat is supported by the weak and corrupt federal legal system. The weak federal legal system includes the corrupt Supreme Court which is now controlled by Trump and the wealthy. Will the weak federal legal system stop Trump? No. The states controlled by Democrats must act to stop Trump using the legal system in the states which is protected and given authorization by the Constitution.

Read my post.

https://williamlmiller.substack.com/p/how-to-stop-trump-republicans-and

From January 6, 2021, through 2024, the weak federal legal system enabled the illegal election of Trump who should have been convicted of the felony crime of insurrection and imprisoned. Trump should have been prevented from being on the ballot in 2024, but Section 3 of the 14th Amendment that prohibited him from holding office was not enforced by the corrupt Supreme Court. In 2025, Trump is exploiting the weak legal system to engage in his many illegal actions such as illegally ignoring court orders, illegally canceling funding authorized and directed for specific purpose by Congress, illegally creating and collecting tariffs, and illegally putting military into city streets with false claims of “fighting crime”. Trump has renamed the Department of Defense (DOD), the Department of War, and is raging war against Democrat controlled states and cities.

Don’t listen to the news media to understand what happened to America, and why democracy is not working. “We the people must save democracy.

I am convinced that protesters, ruling Democrats, and the public media have clearly recognized the criminal energy with which the trump regime and its national and international backers are pursuing the overthrow of US society and the destruction of the constitutional order. This also applies to the GOP, the Supreme Court, the corrupt administration, and the criminal henchmen of ICE.

I am equally convinced that anyone who reads this Substack or similar publications, and who has not been living under a rock for the last, say, fifty years, is aware of the current political and economic situation in the US and does not need any mansplaining.

Solidarity must be grounded on the Constitution, From my essay https://dialector.substack.com/p/american-politics-101 Our unity under the Constitution is the ultimate "No Kings" statement:

"True American unity has nothing to do with being Christian or Atheist, Republican or Democrat, Conservative or liberal. Identity politics is fundamentally irrelevant to American greatness. American unity and our rule of law have to do with how the Constitution defines our liberty and structures our government. It has everything to do with our being united as one people in our commitment to honor the values, goals, and principles of the Constitution of the United States. The left and right can join together to honor the Constitution. Conservatives and liberals can be allies when both are willing to suffer and sacrifice in the support and defense of the Constitution and the rule of law. Either we honor our Constitution to make the rule of law sacred again, or the possibilities of American unity and greatness die with our neglect.

We must reclaim national unity through shared principles, not by demanding uniformity of opinion, but by rallying around the one thing that allows us to remain one nation at all: the Constitution of the United States. To speak of American unity in constitutional terms is not to dream of sameness; it is to honor the shared ground that makes disagreement safe, that makes liberty among diverse peoples possible, that binds the many into one without demanding that they become alike. Unity through shared principles, real American unity, constitutional unity, is not forged in party platforms or culture war anger. It is built on the soil of citizens honoring the Constitution, where the ordinary civic duties of self-government give shape to the extraordinary miracle of free people living together in peace."

The Satyagraha movement in India modeled the kind of principles we need now to save the Constitution and the American Republic. Gandhi was my introduction to nonviolence in resisting government lawlessness. The American civil rights movement also used nonviolence well. The importance of nonviolent resistance to our current crisis is fundamental to any chance of success. I have a whole section on nonviolence in E Pluribus Unum,

https://dialector.substack.com/p/e-pluribus-unum#%C2%A7how-to-find-the-courage-and-skills-to-resist-unconstitutional-lawlessness-without-violence

From that section:

"History has already shown us a greater weapon, one that is extremely effective against superior physical force: nonviolent resistance. Mohandas K. Gandhi shattered the chains of the British Empire without firing a single shot. Martin Luther King Jr. forced a nation to confront its own sins, not through the destruction of violence, but through the unyielding power of moral defiance. Both Gandhi and King attributed their focus on non-violence in their respective movements to American naturalist, essayist, poet, and philosopher Henry David Thoreau's book Civil Disobedience. Nonviolent resistance is not passivity, it is the disruption of injustice and an unbreakable discipline in the face of oppression. Those who wield it refuse to comply with lawlessness, exposing tyranny not with bullets, but with truth."

We had a penguin saying they should send ICE to Antarctica where it belongs. Peaceful was the order of the sunny, warm and well-attended day. The down side was that we have lost a minimum of 265 neighbors to ICE deportation forces. It is time for them to stop. Our town is not huge, but we have a lot of poultry processing. Immigrants also work with contractors, install solar and rebuild roadways. We would not do well without these neighbors.

What an uplifting day! In little Pennsburg, PA, halfway between Philly and Allentown, up where PA begins to turn “red,” we had nearly 400 patriots come out for No Kings Day. Not only that, but every few moments, the drivers of cars and trucks passing us honked and signaled thumbs up and shouted encouragement. Sure, a few flipped that notorious finger, but we shouted at them, “Go, Birds!” like good Eagles fans, and took the sting out of their nastiness. The weather was perfect and the crowd was, too. Success!

We only encountered one MAGA infiltration when 2 masked men walking behind us started shouting that we should walk into the street, which was filled with police officers rather than be stuck on the sidewalk like cattle. Of course, this was in hopes of getting folks arrested.

When that didn't work, they started shouting how we were probably all so glad that Kirk was shot in the neck, trying to incite the crowd into hateful speech.

I started singing America the Beautiful as loud as I could, and several others joined in and we drowned them out until they left the area we were walking through.

My son, who is extremely introverted, but very politically motivated, told me he was proud of how I handled that and how it caught on in such a positive and effective way.

Most of the police were silent and non engaging, but you could tell the ones who were probably liberals by their kindness while people were crossing the streets.

I'm glad I was a part of something so important, glad it was peaceful, glad to be around such caring and loving humans. I laughed at a lot of good signs, I smiled a lot at everyone there and everyone was safe exercising their right to free speech. I'm really glad that I got to do something important like this with one of the 2 people I love most in the world, and it was even nicer being outside with people who I didn't have to wonder which side of goodness they were on.

And if we can focus all that solidarity on just a handful of House Republicans, our massive voice can convince them that this moment gives them the opportunity to reach the zenith of their careers.

This moment, they become legends when they declare as independent, now choosing to caucus with Democrats for the singular purpose of driving Trump out of power in every sense possible.

If just three do this, they can #FlipTheHouseFall2025AndBeHeroesForever. Let's remind them of this from the overpasses on their way to their offices. Let's remind them of this on their fax machines and with messages on phones.

In this selfless act, they will turn loose a #BlueHouse that will rip through Trump's #ClownCarCabinet so fast that impeachments, indictments, and resignations will fly like the confetti raining down on a future #2ndIndependenceDay parade.

The man who embodies a king--

Trump denies he reaches for the status of a King but with every action he takes, as this country's President, he reflects a man whose wardrobe is invisible. His favorite serpent is a King Cobra. He loves a fine meal consisting of King crab and broiled King Mackerel, after stuffing his rotund form we all know he never relaxes on his Queen sized bed. As a young man he would listen to the songs by The Kingston Trio while dreaming of some young thing he met on the beach in Kingston Jamaica. His favorite game was checkers because he loved to say "King Me." The man has been preoccupied with a kingship of his own ever since he flunked puberty. Can you imagine the Kingdom of Trump? Face it, if Trump isn't the KIngpin in the room he'll make it known he should be. Muhammad Ali said he was the greatest however, Trump would disagree. I heard Mr. Miller say--"No phone, no pool, no pets. I ain't got no cigarettes----" Perhaps you Mr. Trump should hit one.
