Save the Date: Office Hours first-ever livestream this Wednesday
Another way to connect -- and also show appreciation for supporting our work
Update: The livestream will start Wednesday, January 19 at 10am PT, 1pm ET, and all timezones in between at https://robertreich.substack.com/p/office-hours-live-1.
Friends,
It’s a confusing and stressful time. So this Wednesday in lieu of our regular Office Hours, I’m inviting you to join my first-ever livestream video Office Hours Q&A.
I’ll respond to your questions about power, politics, and the real economy — live. I’ll share with you how I try to remain upbeat, notwithstanding all the downbeat realities surrounding us. I’ll try to both enlighten and lighten.
If you’re not yet a paying subscriber, please consider signing up. As you know, the newsletter is free — and this event is open to all — but your paid subscriptions help sustain this project. (Subscribers also tell me they enjoy participating in our daily troll-free conversations in the comments section.)
Office Hours Live will take place on Wednesday, January 19 at 10am PT, 1pm ET, and time zones in between (please be sure to add this to your calendar. We’ll also send reminders). Here’s how it will work:
You can start writing questions today in the Comments section below (we’ll also collect questions when we’re live on Wednesday).
On Wednesday morning, my email to you will include the video player where you can watch and join. (If you’re not signed up to receive my free newsletter that comes directly to your inbox, add your name using the “Subscribe” button.)
See you soon. Please stay safe.
Robert Reich
Robert - I often feel like we are in our own echo chamber. Can we set up a Robert Reich TV & Radio media group that is tasked with putting ads on Local Fox News & affiliates in swing states? The Miedas brothers did this in Florida. My contention is that we need to help break into the Fox News disinformation campaign. Some local stations would likely allow the ads. Most FN viewers won’t listen, but some will.
With little chance for either of the major voting rights acts to become law, what options do the Democrats have to counter legally the 300 or so voting restriction laws either under consideration in states with Republican legislatures or actually passed into law in those states. And do the Dems have a real chance of somehow making certain that the results of the 2022 or 2024 elections are not foregone conclusions, or a major step toward an American dictatorship?
