Office Hours: Should parents be criminally responsible for a child who kills?

I’m the father of two young men of whom I couldn’t be prouder.

But I don’t take the credit. They also had a terrific mother, loving grandparents, great teachers and mentors, and supportive friends. And they were fortunate to grow up with most of the resources they needed.

Yet the real credit for who they became rests entirely with them.
