I’m only 71 and I can relate to much of what you stated! I have two hearing aids and that’s a great idea to have quiet restaurants for us!

I can’t remember names and the other day when I left my apartment I forgot what I was going to do.

I am petite and was 4’11” and now 4’10.”

Yesterday I saw “Freud’s Last Session” with Anthony Hopkins who is 85 and still acting! He has another movie coming out in the Spring! Maybe he’ll even win an Oscar except Bradley Cooper in Maestro did an excellent performance of Leonard Bernstein! I recommend both movies if you haven’t seen them! Oh yeah, I googled Robert Redford and he’s 87! I recently saw him in a movie on Netflix with Jane Fonda! I also recently heard Judy Collins singing and she is 84 and just recorded a new CD!

Yes, getting old is not for sissies! However, it’s better than the alternative! My Dad lived to 92 and my Mom 95! I just need to cut down on my sugar intake and start exercising again!

The best of health for all of us and a happy, healthy, peaceful New Year 2024!

Lisa from New York City and love living here!

This is certainly a popular topic. It's interesting to see more people talking about Biden's age than Trump's sanity or humanity. Or about the relative competency and experience of the teams which surround each man.

I react somewhat negatively to many of the "symptoms" of age people use and associate somehow with decreasing ability to function successfully in the world. Difficulties hearing, running or even walking, remembering names and so on are things the disability community can speak about and they wouldn't suggest that any of these are barriers to having the sharpest of minds or the ability to listen, reason, make decisions or resist the temptation to blather crude insults about people, especially women.

Biden's record isn't perfect but it is astonishing good given the deadweight from the right tied around his ankle, the fact that people choose news "media" assuming it will reflect their views and the negative and erratically-informed understanding of the flawed U.S. political and electoral systems. Not to mention the Trump judicial legacy.

Biden also cares and talks about other people more than himself, which he is proving by having run in the first place and agreeing to do it again. There are certainly more fun ways to spend what the lucky among us are allowed to enjoy as retirement years.

Back to the symptoms. I'm hoping that this isn't a year filled with disparagement, perhaps unintentional, of people with disabilities. People with "perfect" hearing oftentimes don't listen. People with 20/20 vision often see through a haze of fear or hate. People with strong healthy hearts can be absent compassion or love. People who have difficulty enunciating can be filled with wisdom and able to share it in myriad ways. Just as people who tend to the shorter end of the stature spectrum can reach great heights.

I don't see a better choice than Biden for 2024 and I hope, for the sake of the world, he beats whichever unreasonable choice (this we can count on) is made by the GOP. Which, it really isn't, is it?
